Frequently asked questions about telescopic pool enclosures
Q 1. Do I need planning permission for this type of pool enclosure?
Generally not, as the building is not a permanent structure. However, permission, would be requires for any commercial use, or the location is in a sensitive area.
Q 2. When can an enclosure be installed?
As soon as the paving around the swimming pool is completed.
Q 3. What type of glazing is used on the sides and ends?
6mm toughened glass is used to the sides and 6.4mm laminated glass is used to the ends.
Q 4. What material is used to glaze the roof?
Polycarbonate of 16mm triple thickness with 'No Drop', which is a surface treatment, which avoids water droplets forming on the underside.
Q 5. How do I maintain the enclosure?
By means of a high-pressure water jet.
Q 6. Can leaves and insects gain entry under an enclosure?
No, this is due to our floor rail. Under the plinth profile a seal is mounted which presses against the rail on the whole of its length, not allowing unwanted intrusion.
Q 7. In what colour can I have the enclosure?
All colours are possible without a price supplement. If you would like to use more than one colour extra is charged.
Q 8. How long will it take to open and close the enclosure?
It will take about 15 minutes to open the enclosure and approximately 20 minutes to close it.
Q 9. How many doors are there?
As standard, 2 sliding doors will be mounted, one at each end.
Q 10. Can I have a side door?
It is possible with some models to have a side door, but it would cost extra.
Q 11. What is the guarantee?
Extensions in Glass and its suppliers provide a 10-year guarantee on the polycarbonate roof and the reinforced glazing. A 25-year guarantee is issued for the metallic structure against storm winds up to 150km/h and snow loading up to 120kg/m2.
